True North · launching Q1 2026

The logbook that
does the thinking.

Most fitness apps are a spreadsheet with a login, or an AI that makes decisions you spend the session undoing. True North is the third thing:you set the program, it handles the progression, the substitutions and the remembering.

Join the list and get the 12-Week Habit Challenge — a printable plan you can start today, app or no app.

We'll email the challenge now, then one note when the True North beta opens (Q1 2026).

True North — your own program: days like Upper A and Lower A, each with its exercises and set counts
True North — a session from that program, every weight shown with the reason it changed and a pinned setup note on the exercise

Your program, progressing itself

Build your routine once — the days, the exercises, the sets. Every session the app fills in the weights and reps from what you actually lifted last time. No duplicating routines week to week, no spreadsheet.

Every number, with its reasoning

It suggests 82.5 kg because last time you hit 80×8 with two reps in reserve. The working is right there on the screen. No black-box AI quietly deciding for you.

Machine taken? One tap.

Swap any exercise mid-set for one that trains the same thing with the equipment that's free. The session keeps moving, the plan stays intact, your progress isn't lost.

It remembers how you lift

Seat height 4. Narrow grip. Don't lock out. Pin a note to an exercise and it follows that exercise everywhere — across every routine, every session.

A coach that knows your constraints

Tweaked your back? Tell it. It adapts the session — what to skip, what to swap, when to back off — and never touches your actual targets. Those stay with your history.

A logged set can't vanish

Local-first and offline by default. Your training history lives on your device, not in a sync that drops sets between your watch and your phone. Export all of it any time.

The best training app most people have ever used is a notes file, a spreadsheet and a chat window they paste last week's numbers into. It works because they own the plan. True North is that system, built properly: it keeps your program, does the progressive-overload maths, swaps an exercise when a machine is busy, and remembers the setup cues you'd otherwise forget — while the screen you actually use stays boring.

Anything free today stays free. We will never move a feature you already use behind the paywall.

Is True North free?

Yes — the core logbook, your program, the automatic progression and the export are free, and anything free today stays free. A paid tier adds the constraint-aware coaching.

What platform does it run on?

Android first, at launch in Q1 2026. iOS follows after the public release.

Does it decide my workouts for me?

No. You build the program — the days, the exercises, the sets. The app fills in the weights and reps from what you actually lifted last time, and shows the reasoning for every number.

Where is my training data stored?

On your device. True North is local-first and works offline; nothing is synced to a server. You can export your full history any time.

Do I need to keep a streak?

No. There is no streak counter and no guilt mechanic. The app tracks your lifts, not your attendance.
